Happy New Year

Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Throughout the past three years I found myself frequently saying, “I don’t know but I know Who does.” He is in control and He is faithful!

The past few years have been an adjustment for us. Yes, there has been pain, heartache, and even anger, but there has been joy and tremendous spiritual growth. Recently in Sunday School, the question was asked, “Can we know joy if we have not experienced suffering?” As a friend told me, “God will redeem this” and He is in the process of doing just that. He does indeed cause
“all things to work together for good.” He will use it! Another friend told me we have to rewrite what normal is for us and that is what we are doing. I am looking forward to the future God has for us.

I recently heard that we did not survive “whatever it was” because of our ability, but because God has something for us. God has something specific He wants to do in and through each of us this year. As 2010 begins, my prayer is that we will grow in our relationship with the Lord, with each other, and that we will be the extension of Christ to others. We truly do serve an amazing God. May this year be a year of growth in your relationship with the Father and with your family and may He alone be honored and glorified!
